OnePlus’s recent announcement to forego foldable phone releases in 2025 has left many users in dismay, particularly those who were set to upgrade from their current devices. Speculation points to potential economic policies as a driving factor for this decision.

On the other hand, they insist that foldables are not going anywhere. In spite of this, there was a rumor that circulated in the previous year that OnePlus (and OPPO) could be leaving foldables.

There should be a huge improvement between the Open and Open 2 because there is more than two years—probably closer to three—between the two. From the Find N3 to the Find N5, OPPO has already made a significant leap. If you wait another year, it will be much improved.
In the latter part of this month, the OPPO Find N5 will make its debut, and it is expected to be the thinnest foldable smartphone in the world.
Reports from Android Headlines indicate that by the time OnePlus releases the Open 2, we will most likely be on the Find N6, which may be even more compact and lighter than the Open 2.
