Lady Louise’s Royal Future? ‘Serious’ Prince William May Grant New Title After Military Service

Prince William is said to be considering rewarding Lady Louise Windsor with a new title after the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburg was seen in full military uniform last week.

It was previously revealed that the 21-year-old royal has joined the St. Andrews University Officers Training Corps, making her the first female royal to serve since her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, who joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) in 1945.

An unnamed source stated that Prince William is serious about Lady Louise becoming a working royal. It was even claimed that the Prince of Wales has prepared to give her a new title.

“The devotion she’s shown over the years will only improve after military service—she’s a very impressive young lady,” the anonymous insider told Woman’s Day Australia.

Most, if not all, royal followers are aware of the close relationship between Prince William and his aunt, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburg. In fact, reports suggested that the Wales and Edinburghs get on very well.

Another informant even shared to The Sunday Times that Prince William is very eager for Sophie and Prince Edward to play a more prominent role in public life, especially when he becomes the King of England.

“By any measure, Sophie has proved herself to be a major asset to the royal family, and William would be foolish to ignore the value she brings,” former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK! Magazine.

Though Prince William is not afraid to shy away from controversial subjects such as male suicide rates and mental health, Sophie focuses on the difficult subjects of gender equality, female genital mutilation and eradication of sexual violence in conflict areas.

“She is dignified and elegant, and yet still the same Sophie she was when she met Edward: unpretentious, generous and with a natural charm. She has worked below the radar for many years, neither expecting nor receiving the publicity she deserves. Recently though, with the slimmed down royal family, the public have come to recognize how important the Duchess is to the work of the monarchy,” Jennie went on.

Prince Edward and Sophie did not give HRH titles to Lady Louise and her brother, Viscount James, the Earl of Wessex, at birth, in hopes that this would allow them to lead normal lives away from the scrutinizing public eye.

Lady Louise could have adopted the Princess title when she turned 18 but chose not to. Viscount James, for his part, is expected to make a similar decision when he turns 18 in December.

Though there are reports stating that Prince William is keen for Lady Louise to play a vital role in The Firm, her mother, Sophie, stated that both Louise and James are unlikely to ever adopt the Princess and Prince titles.
