Alec and Hilaria Baldwin will lead the grand reopening of Planet Hollywood in New York City on Tuesday, sources confirmed to Page Six. The event promises a high-energy night with a DJ set by Boy George and a special appearance from rapper 50 Cent. After closing its Times Square spot during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hollywood-themed restaurant invested $17 million to relaunch at 136 W. 42nd St.

The invite-only party has already sparked buzz as one of NYC’s most anticipated events. Robert Earl, the founder, aims to blend nostalgia with innovation at the new venue. Unlike its earlier focus on movie memorabilia, the updated space boasts giant high-definition screens across walls and ceilings. Diners can expect immersive visuals, from lush forests to old cowboy towns, paired with music from artists like Lil Nas X and Taylor Swift.

A New Era for Planet Hollywood

Planet Hollywood first dazzled New York in 1991 on West 57th Street, backed by stars like Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. It later moved to Times Square in 2000 but shuttered during the pandemic. Now, Earl shifts focus to attract Manhattanites alongside tourists. The new location sits above Chicken Guy!, a Guy Fieri restaurant, adding to the area’s dining appeal.

Earl explained the shift in vision, noting past efforts targeted theatergoers and visitors. Today, the restaurant aims to captivate locals with its modern twist. The $17 million revamp includes over 692 video tiles, creating a 360-degree visual experience. Guests will feel transported while enjoying the Hollywood-inspired menu.

    Star Power and Family Spotlight

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin, stars of TLC’s upcoming reality show “The Baldwins,” bring extra flair to the event. The couple, who share seven children, offer a glimpse into their lives on the show. Their hosting gig underscores their knack for grabbing headlines, from red carpets to reality TV.

Boy George’s DJ set and 50 Cent’s appearance add to the night’s allure. The blend of music, tech, and celebrity promises a fresh chapter for Planet Hollywood. Originally conceived in the late ’80s, the brand grew through Earl’s vision after his Hard Rock Café success. Early memorabilia featured props from “Rocky III” and “Terminator 2,” but the reboot leans into digital spectacle.

The Baldwins’ involvement ties the event to their growing media presence. Sources say the couple aims to make the reopening unforgettable. With its new Midtown home and bold redesign, Planet Hollywood seeks to reclaim its spot as a must-visit NYC attraction.
