Cheryl Hines has reportedly given Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a firm ultimatum after his alleged sexting affair with journalist Olivia Nuzzi last year. Sources told the Daily Mail that Hines demanded Kennedy relocate her from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., where he now leads the Department of Health and Human Services under President Trump.

Hines, 59, doubts Kennedy, 71, can stay trustworthy while living alone in D.C., even part-time, sources claimed. They noted she fears temptation from admirers as he settles into his influential role. Consequently, Hines insists on moving to keep a close watch, unwilling to risk further betrayal after feeling blindsided by the scandal.

Emotional Toll of the Sexting Scandal

News of Kennedy’s alleged affair with Nuzzi, a 32-year-old reporter, broke in September, shaking Hines emotionally. Sources revealed Nuzzi admitted to a relationship after Kennedy reportedly boasted about inappropriate texts. The fallout cost Nuzzi her job at New York magazine and her engagement to Ryan Lizza. Meanwhile, Hines appeared without her wedding ring several times but later supported Kennedy publicly, including at his confirmation hearing.

The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star still grapples with the pain, according to insiders. Despite this, the couple attended the UCSD Cancer Center Starry Starry Night Gala in Palm Desert, Calif., recently. Kennedy spoke and received an award while the pair appeared gracious and warm, sources told Page Six.

    Relocating to Rebuild Trust

Hines reportedly told Kennedy to move her to D.C. immediately or face consequences, fearing his behavior as a part-time bachelor. Another source explained she’s ready to leave her glamorous Los Angeles life for a political one in Georgetown. This move aims to rebuild trust, though Hines remains cautious given the scandal’s impact.

Kennedy has not commented on the affair, and Hines’ reps were unavailable for comment. The couple’s public unity, like at Kennedy’s February 13 White House swearing-in, contrasts with private tensions. Sources suggest Hines wants to monitor Kennedy closely as he navigates his high-profile role.

Their recent gala appearance showed a united front. Yet, the ultimatum hints at deeper struggles. Hines’ decision reflects her effort to protect their marriage while adapting to Kennedy’s new life in politics. For now, the couple balances public duties with personal challenges, navigating a path forward together.
