Hollywood is buzzing with tension as Tom Selleck is reportedly livid over his former Blue Bloods co-star Donnie Wahlberg securing a spin-off without him. The 80-year-old acting legend, who fought to keep the long-running police drama alive, was blindsided when CBS announced Boston Blue, a series centered around Wahlberg’s character, Danny Reagan.

Sources close to the situation claim Selleck sees the move as a massive betrayal, feeling cast aside after dedicating more than a decade to the hit show.

    Wahlberg’s Spin-Off Sparks Selleck’s Outrage

Selleck, best known for Magnum, P.I., was devastated when CBS pulled the plug on Blue Bloods, despite his efforts to keep it going. Now, insiders say he is enraged that Wahlberg, whom he once mentored, is moving forward with a spin-off that essentially erases the rest of the cast.

“This is a huge stab in the back,” a source revealed. “Tom saw himself as a father figure to Donnie and helped him with his career. Now, Donnie’s running the show without even telling him.”

While Wahlberg, 55, has openly praised Selleck in the past, sources claim their bond has completely shattered over the CBS deal. The insider added that Selleck believes the network intentionally found a way to move on without him and his hefty paycheck.

Will Selleck Be Part of the New Show?

Despite the fallout, some sources say Selleck is holding onto hope that he’ll be asked to make an appearance in Boston Blue. However, others believe that ship has sailed.

“Tom’s putting on a brave face, but he’s still furious,” the insider added. “He had no idea this spin-off was even in discussion, and now he feels used and tossed aside.”

Meanwhile, Wahlberg has remained tight-lipped about the drama, but industry insiders suggest he had the power to refuse the project if he truly wanted to remain loyal to Selleck.

“Donnie could have stood by Tom,” a source said. “Instead, he took the deal. Tom will never forgive him for that.”

With Boston Blue moving full steam ahead, it seems unlikely the two actors will mend fences anytime soon.
