Prince William is growing increasingly frustrated with Meghan Markle’s continued references to Princess Diana, with insiders claiming he is “raging all over again” about her latest move.
According to sources, the future king has long been irritated by Markle’s public tributes to his late mother. However, her upcoming cookery show and recent fashion choices—closely mirroring Diana’s iconic looks—have reportedly pushed him over the edge.
Meghan’s Fashion Choices Draw Diana Comparisons
Markle, 43, recently shared a social media post wearing a Northwestern University sweatshirt, nearly identical to one Princess Diana famously wore in the 1990s. While Markle is an alum of the Illinois-based university, insiders say William believes the choice was a deliberate attempt to evoke memories of his mother.
“William keeps a stiff upper lip in public, but behind closed doors, he’s furious over Meghan’s copycat behavior,” an insider shared.
In another instance, Markle attended the Invictus Games in Vancouver wearing a double-breasted blazer that resembled one of Diana’s favorite coats from the 1980s. While fans applauded the style tribute, sources claim William saw it as yet another attempt to associate herself with the late princess.
Cookery Show and Netflix Documentary Add to Tension
William’s frustration reportedly intensified after Markle and Prince Harry, 40, highlighted Diana’s memory in their 2022 Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan. In one scene, Markle was seen pointing to a picture of Diana while speaking to their son, Archie. She told him, “That’s Grandma Diana,” a moment that some saw as touching but others viewed as calculated.
The tension between the Sussexes and the royal family has remained high since they stepped back from their duties in 2020. Insiders claim William has struggled to accept how Meghan and Harry frequently invoke Diana’s name while pursuing media projects.
“Meghan may have good intentions by honoring Diana,” the source said. “But when she does it while launching TV shows and a lifestyle brand, it raises eyebrows.”
William’s Unspoken Frustration
Despite his reported anger, William remains tight-lipped in public, refusing to openly criticize his brother’s wife. However, those close to him claim he deeply resents Markle’s ongoing references to their mother.
