A former Nintendo sales lead has ignited speculation that the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch in June, potentially priced at $400. The claim, made on a podcast, suggests Nintendo aims for a summer release to capitalize on school-year buzz. Details are expected in an April Direct.

An ex-Nintendo employee has claimed that the April dedicated Direct would reveal when the Nintendo Switch 2 will be available for purchase, suggesting a global release in June.

An anonymous former sales lead on the Kit & Krysta podcast, going by the name of Sean, said that the system’s debut will coincide with the end of the school year or the beginning of summer. This would make sense given that Nintendo would certainly have students talking about the system in the build-up to its release.

A June launch is quite probable, potentially in mid-June or somewhat later than that, according to the former employee. This is due to strong strategic reasons, such as the opportunity for stores to offer bundles during the holiday shopping season, and Nintendo’s desire to have the system out before the end of summer. According to Sean, if the console doesn’t make it into the release window, it’s because something wasn’t ready.

When asked about the system’s pricing, the ex-Nintendo employee predicted $400. This price point is considered by analysts to be optimal for showcasing the Nintendo Switch 2’s superiority over its predecessor without turning off the system’s core fans.

WCCFTECH has a very solid notion of how much more powerful the Nintendo Switch 2 will be than its predecessor, despite the fact that there has been no official confirmation regarding the specifications of the machine.

In particular, the improved central processing unit (CPU) is something that a number of game creators are looking forward to, as it will solve one of the most significant problems with the first system, which was the fact that it caused performance delays.

An undetermined release date has not yet been established for the Nintendo Switch 2, which is scheduled to be released this year. Additional details on the system are going to be disclosed during the special Direct that was discussed earlier, which is set to take place on April 2nd.
