McDonald’s Canada just launched the ‘95 McFlurry to mark 30 years of the Toronto Raptors and the McFlurry. Partnering with Cossette, McDonald’s blends 90s nostalgia with a fresh twist. This limited-edition treat celebrates the Raptors and McDonald’s shared 1995 roots. Fans get vanilla soft serve mixed with red popping candy and blueberry syrup. McDonald’s ties the dessert’s bold flavors to the Raptors’ iconic purple-and-red vibe. Plus, it’s a nod to Canada’s basketball boom.
The campaign taps into 90s hip-hop with a music video and three original tracks. McDonald’s Canada aims to unite basketball and dessert lovers. Melissa Hains, McDonald’s Canada’s field marketing director, said the ‘95 McFlurry connects with fans. She called it a fun mix of nostalgia and creativity. McDonald’s wants everyone to feel the 1995 energy. Available in Ontario from Feb. 18 to March 17, this treat’s a slam dunk.
McDonald’s ‘95 McFlurry Brings the Beat
McDonald’s Canada leans hard into 90s hip-hop culture. The campaign drops “Keepin’ it Fly,” a song about 1995’s vibe and grabbing a McFlurry. Next, “McFlurry Party Anthem” pumps up post-Raptors-game joy with the ‘95 McFlurry. Finally, “Ridin’ with the 9-5” takes fans back to the Raptors’ and McFlurry’s early days. Jason Hill from Cossette said hip-hop fits basketball perfectly. He added that McDonald’s kept the songs authentic to the 90s sound. The video and tracks hit all the right notes.
Fans can snag the ‘95 McFlurry at participating McDonald’s spots in Ontario. It’s a limited run, so don’t wait. McDonald’s also spreads the hype with TV ads, social media, and arena activations. Look for it at Scotiabank Arena and on Spotify soon.
McDonald’s and Raptors Celebrate 30 Years
McDonald’s Canada and the Raptors share a 1995 birth year. This campaign honors that milestone with flair. The ‘95 McFlurry mirrors the Raptors’ bold colors and spirit. McDonald’s keeps its Raptors partnership alive with this tasty tribute. Hains said it’s all about exciting fans with a unique collab. The dessert’s popping candy and syrup scream 90s boldness. Meanwhile, the campaign’s out-of-home takeovers keep the buzz going strong.
McDonald’s Canada knows how to throw a party. The ‘95 McFlurry ties two icons together for a nostalgic win. Grab one before it’s gone.
