Kelsey Grammer is not ready to say goodbye to Dr. Frasier Crane just yet. After Paramount+ canceled the reboot of Frasier following two seasons, the 70-year-old actor is fighting to find a new home for the show, RadarOnline.com has learned.

A Role That ‘Fit Like a Glove’

Grammer, best known for portraying the pompous yet endearing psychiatrist on Cheers and its successful spin-off Frasier, has been vocal about his love for the character. He first introduced Frasier Crane in 1984 and later led his own series from 1993 to 2004.

“From the first reading, the part fit me like a glove,” Grammer said, recalling his early days as the beloved character. He admitted that while Frasier was self-deluded at times, his sincerity made him relatable to audiences.

In 2023, Grammer revived the series with Paramount+, eager to bring his character back to a new generation. However, after just two seasons, the streaming platform pulled the plug. Despite this, Grammer remains optimistic that Frasier’s story is far from over.

    Searching for a New Network

With Frasier officially off Paramount+, insiders claim Grammer is working tirelessly to keep the show alive. A source close to the situation revealed he has been reaching out to former co-stars and other industry players in an effort to make the series more appealing to new platforms.

“He’s frantic in trying to find a solution to save the show and is pulling out all the stops,” an industry insider shared. The source also revealed that Grammer has been forced to “swallow his pride” and ask former Frasier cast members, such as David Hyde Pierce, Jane Leeves, and Peri Gilpin, to join the revival to generate fresh interest.

The actor has even teased the idea of bringing Cheers co-star Ted Danson into the mix. “Ted and I might actually visit something together,” Grammer stated. “We’ve been talking about it. Maybe on Frasier. We don’t know yet, but there’s definitely something to explore.”

    Frustration with Paramount+?

Grammer has also hinted at his disappointment with Paramount+, suggesting the platform did not give the reboot the attention it deserved. “There’s a better home for it… They didn’t really promote or spend much time on it,” he said, expressing confidence that Frasier could still thrive elsewhere.

“We’ll end up somewhere where people are passionate about it. Listen, it’s got a huge audience, a big following, and if people know where to find it, I think they will.”

    What’s Next for ‘Frasier’?

While there is no official news yet regarding a new home for Frasier, Grammer’s determination to keep the series going is clear. Whether the show will return for a third season on another network remains to be seen, but fans can rest assured that Grammer is not giving up without a fight.
