Katy Perry’s legal battle over a $15 million mansion is far from over, and the pop star may be forced to testify in the middle of her highly anticipated tour. The lawsuit, brought by 85-year-old disabled veteran Carl Westcott, has been delayed multiple times but is now set to move forward, potentially disrupting Perry’s concert schedule.

Katy Perry’s Mansion Lawsuit Takes a New Turn

Court documents show that the dispute dates back to 2020 when Westcott, the founder of 1-800-Flowers, sold his Santa Barbara home to Perry’s business manager, Bernie Gudvi. Westcott later claimed he was under the influence of painkillers after surgery when he agreed to the deal and attempted to back out, but Perry’s team refused.

During the first phase of the trial, the court ruled that Gudvi was the rightful owner and upheld the sale. Perry officially took possession of the property in 2023. However, the case is now moving into phase two, where damages will be determined.

A judge previously ordered Katy Perry to testify, and the next phase of the trial was originally scheduled for February 25. However, after a plea from Westcott’s legal team, who cited severe health issues, the date was pushed back again. The trial will now take place from August 21 to August 28.

This new schedule could create a major conflict for Perry. She is set to kick off The Lifetime Tours, her first tour in seven years, on April 23. With concerts booked in North America until late August, followed by an international leg beginning in September, the court dates could interfere with her performances in Atlanta, Tampa, and Miami.

Orlando Bloom Dragged Into Katy Perry’s Legal Drama

The lawsuit has also entangled Perry’s fiancé, Orlando Bloom. Westcott’s lawyers have subpoenaed Bloom, arguing that he is a key witness in the dispute. They claim Bloom was involved in overseeing renovations at the mansion and that he had direct knowledge of the home’s condition.

Perry’s legal team strongly opposed the subpoena, calling it an attempt to violate Bloom’s privacy and sensationalize the case. They accused Westcott’s team of trying to disrupt Perry’s family life and argued that Bloom’s testimony was unnecessary for the property dispute.

Adding another layer to the controversy, court records revealed that Bloom and Perry allegedly had a “spat” at the mansion in 2024. Westcott’s former property manager testified in a deposition that he had witnessed a heated argument between the couple during a home inspection. The nature of the disagreement remains unclear, but the revelation has only fueled media attention around the case.

Katy Perry’s Tour vs. Courtroom Battle: What Happens Next?

While Perry has remained largely silent on the lawsuit, sources close to the veteran fear that time may be running out for him. Westcott’s family has expressed concerns over his health, noting that he suffers from Huntington’s disease, a progressive neurological disorder.

In November 2024, his family released a statement saying they were watching his health decline, comparing his condition to Alzheimer’s. They worry he may not live long enough to see the case resolved.

The judge overseeing the case has made it clear that there will be no more delays. The latest order states that the trial will proceed as scheduled in August, with no further continuances allowed.

For Katy Perry, this legal battle couldn’t come at a worse time. With a global tour on the horizon, the singer may have to juggle court appearances with her high-energy performances. Whether she will be forced to adjust her schedule or fight the case from the road remains to be seen.

One thing is certain—this legal drama isn’t ending anytime soon.
