James Hewitt, Princess Diana’s ex-lover, spoke out on TV about Prince Harry and William’s rift, RadarOnline.com has learned. The 66-year-old said Diana would’ve healed her sons’ divide, ongoing since Harry’s 2020 royal exit. Hewitt, long rumored as Harry’s dad, shared his take on “Good Morning Britain.”

Hewitt told ITV that any mom would fret over such a split and work to reunite her kids. He believes Diana could’ve bridged the gap between Harry, 40, and William, 42. Their feud flared after Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal life five years ago.
The 2021 Oprah interview, packed with royal bombshells, widened the chasm. Still, the brothers tried mending ties after Queen Elizabeth’s 2022 death. Hewitt insists Diana’s knack for harmony would’ve prevailed, he claimed.
Hewitt’s Past With Diana
Hewitt and Diana shared a secret five-year fling from 1986 to 1991, meeting at a Mayfair party. She asked him, an ex-cavalry officer, to teach her riding to beat her horse fears. Diana later admitted on BBC’s 1995 Panorama she adored him and loved him deeply.
She wed Charles in 1981, split in 1992, and divorced in 1996 amid his Camilla affair. Hewitt felt suicidal when Diana ended things in 1991, he once said. He loved her but wished the affair never happened, he added.
Rumors tag Hewitt as Harry’s father, which he denies as nonsense on Australian TV. Diana’s bodyguard, Ken Wharfe, backed him, saying dates don’t match—Harry was born in 1984, before they met. Hewitt’s 1999 book “Love and War” spilled more on their bond.
