Apple unveiled the iPhone 16e, a rebranded iPhone SE 4 that features a single 48-megapixel wide-angle camera. The device lacks the ultrawide and advanced portrait modes of the iPhone 16, sparking mixed reviews among tech enthusiasts and raising questions about its competitive edge in a challenging smartphone market.
Yesterday, Apple unveiled the iPhone 16e, as most of you are aware. Basically, it’s just the iPhone SE 4 rebranded. That being said, the camera on the iPhone 16e isn’t as good as the one on the iPhone 16.
This phone comes with one camera mounted on the rear. This is the iPhone 16’s 48-megapixel wide-angle camera. However, it does not have all of the capabilities that the iPhone 16 does. However, that is totally unrelated to the fact that this phone lacks an ultrawide camera on its rear.
You have the choice between a regular 1x zoom and a 2x digital zoom with this camera. With just one camera, it’s not possible to record spatial images and videos. Due to the absence of a secondary camera, you will not be able to take use of features like an ultrawide field of view or a macro shooting mode.
Since there isn’t an ultrawide lens, that much is obvious. Androind Headlines claims that when they stated it is “a nerfed version,” they did not intend that. The main camera was the only one they were talking about; it lacks some of the capabilities of the iPhone 16.
True Tone flash, Photonic Engine, Deep Fusion, and Smart HDR5 are all available, however there are a few things that aren’t. Upcoming portraits with Focus Control and the most recent Photographic Styles are not compatible with the iPhone 16e.
You can change the topic of the photo after taking a portrait shot, but you can’t tweak the focus like with the iPhone 16.
With the introduction of Photographic Styles in the iPhone 16, users are now able to apply a consistent aesthetic to all photos taken by the device. During launch in September, that occurred.
With the iPhone 16e, that isn’t a possibility. On the other hand, if you’re content with an older style filter, you can access that as well.
There is a noticeable lack of functionality in the selfie camera as well. Every feature is identical with the exception of the ability to take portraits with depth control, cinematic mode, and photographic styles.
