Hollywood heavyweights George Clooney and Hugh Jackman are reportedly at odds over Broadway dominance, with sources claiming the Wolverine star is feeling threatened by Clooney’s sudden rise in the theater world.

Jackman, 56, has long been considered the king of the Great White Way, having performed on stage for over 25 years. But insiders say Clooney’s highly anticipated Broadway debut with Goodbye, and Good Luck has him worried about losing the spotlight.

“Hugh sees Broadway as his domain, and now George is camping out in his territory,” a source close to the situation said. “He’s watching nervously, knowing Clooney’s show is getting all the buzz.”

    Clooney’s Broadway Debut Sparks Feud

Clooney’s play previewed on March 12 and is already generating excitement. Meanwhile, Jackman’s new show, From New York With Love, which premiered at Radio City Music Hall in January, runs through October but hasn’t dominated headlines the way Clooney’s production has.

Insiders say Jackman believes Clooney is stepping into a space he ignored for decades but is now capitalizing on. “Hugh has every right to be skeptical,” a source said. “He’s worked tirelessly to build his theater reputation, while George is swooping in and expecting a sold-out run.”

Though Goodbye, and Good Luck isn’t a musical, ticket prices are reportedly as high as some of Broadway’s biggest shows, signaling that Clooney expects a major turnout.

    Jackman’s Personal Drama Adds Pressure

Jackman’s frustration isn’t just about theater. His name has been in the headlines recently for another reason—his rumored affair with Sutton Foster, which allegedly contributed to the end of his marriage.

Meanwhile, Clooney is focused on ensuring his Broadway debut isn’t just about him. Sources say he has carefully curated an ensemble cast of talented actors rather than stacking the show with A-list friends.

“To George’s credit, he hasn’t turned this into a vanity project,” an insider said. “His play highlights a group of actors he respects, giving them a moment in the spotlight. That’s something Hugh has never really done.”

A Battle for Broadway’s Top Spot

While Clooney has yet to comment on the rumored rivalry, those close to him say he isn’t worried about stepping on anyone’s toes. “George believes his show will stand on its own merit, not because of his name,” a source shared.

As for Jackman, insiders say he’s keeping a close eye on Clooney’s success. “He’s not thrilled about this competition,” the source added. “Broadway has been his thing for years, and now he’s facing unexpected competition from a Hollywood powerhouse.”

With both actors commanding major attention, theatergoers will be the ultimate judges of who truly reigns supreme on Broadway.
