Courtney Stodden is once again shedding light on their painful past, revealing that relentless cyberbullying from Chrissy Teigen played a significant role in their struggles with mental health. In a candid interview for Impact x Nightline: Confessions of a Child Bride, Stodden detailed the torment they faced as a teenager, saying Teigen’s cruel online attacks pushed them to suicidal thoughts.

The Harsh Reality of Fame at 16

Stodden first entered the public eye in 2011 when they married Lost actor Doug Hutchison at just 16 years old. The controversial relationship led to widespread criticism, with media outlets and celebrities alike mocking Stodden for their appearance and marriage to a man 35 years older.

While public scrutiny was overwhelming, some of the harshest comments came from Teigen, a well-known model and television personality. Teigen repeatedly targeted Stodden on social media, allegedly telling them to take their own life and publicly ridiculing them in front of millions of followers.

In the interview, Stodden described the lasting impact of these attacks, explaining that they were in an incredibly vulnerable place when Teigen sent the cruel messages. They admitted that the harassment pushed them to dark thoughts, making them feel hopeless and alone.

Chrissy Teigen’s History of Public Apologies

Teigen has previously addressed her past online behavior, publicly apologizing in 2021 after Stodden first revealed details about the bullying. She admitted to being “insecure and attention-seeking” during the time of her attacks, stating she deeply regretted the messages she sent. However, Stodden has remained skeptical of the sincerity behind the apology, suggesting that it was motivated by the backlash Teigen faced rather than genuine remorse.

Teigen faced significant professional fallout after the controversy resurfaced, with several brands distancing themselves from her. She later took a break from social media, claiming she needed time to reflect on her past mistakes.

    Stodden’s Fight for Awareness

Now 29, Stodden has been using their platform to raise awareness about cyberbullying and the long-term effects of online harassment. They have emphasized the need for accountability in the entertainment industry, stating that powerful figures should not be allowed to tear down others without consequences.

In their latest interview, Stodden also discussed the trauma of being a teenage bride and how they have worked to heal from the pain of their past. They hope their story will inspire others who have faced similar struggles and encourage a more compassionate approach to public discourse.
