Cher has captivated audiences for decades, from her chart-topping music career to her acclaimed performances on the big screen. Now, the 77-year-old entertainment legend is looking back on some of her most memorable Hollywood moments—including an unforgettable love scene with Nicolas Cage in the beloved 1987 film Moonstruck.

In a candid discussion about her career, Cher shared behind-the-scenes stories from her biggest roles, shedding light on everything from on-set feuds to lifelong friendships. But it was her take on filming an intimate scene with Cage that had fans buzzing.

    ‘It Wasn’t Really About Sex’

Cher, who won an Academy Award for her role in Moonstruck, said the love scene with Cage was easier to film than many might assume. According to the star, the scene felt more comedic than sensual, which made the process lighthearted. She explained that it wasn’t difficult to shoot because it played out as a caricature rather than a steamy, romantic moment.

Fans have long praised Cher and Cage’s on-screen chemistry, with their passionate performances making Moonstruck a rom-com classic. Despite the film’s intense emotions, Cher recalled that she spent more time focusing on memorizing her lines than worrying about the intimate nature of the scene.

From ‘The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour’ to Oscar Glory

Cher also reminisced about her early career, including her breakout success on The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour. She credited designer Bob Mackie’s dazzling costumes for drawing audiences to the show, revealing that once producers realized the impact of her wardrobe, they gave her all the resources she needed to make each outfit unforgettable.

Throughout the years, Cher has built an impressive film résumé. She starred alongside Meryl Streep in Silkwood, formed lasting friendships with Hollywood icons, and tackled controversial roles in films like If These Walls Could Talk. But not all of her experiences were positive.

Clashes With Directors and Hollywood Politics

Cher didn’t hold back when discussing conflicts with filmmakers. She described Mask director Peter Bogdanovich as arrogant and difficult to work with, recalling that he was particularly unkind to the female cast members.

She also revealed that she played a major role in replacing the director of Mermaids, stating that she gave the producers an ultimatum—either he left the project, or she would.

Even in the face of industry challenges, Cher’s passion for acting remains strong. She admitted that she considers herself a better actress than singer, explaining that while music feels like attending someone else’s party, acting feels like hosting her own—full of responsibility and depth.

With a career spanning six decades, Cher continues to leave an indelible mark on Hollywood. Whether she’s delivering powerhouse performances or reflecting on her past, her stories remind fans why she remains an entertainment icon.
