    Aron Solomon Joins NBC Bay Area for Continuing Coverage of the Elizabeth Holmes Trial

    As the Elizabeth Holmes trial continued on Thursday, jurors heard about more text messages from Elizabeth Holmes, along with more testimony about how optimism turned to disappointment and the loss of millions of dollars in investments. Theranos failed – we know that – but when did Elizabeth Homles know about it?

    The trial of Elizabeth Holmes, is to an extent, the story of how Walgreens was convinced to put the Palo Alto startup’s machines in its stores and test the blood of its customers. 

    According to Aron Solomon of Esquire Digital, “the narrative that’s being created around a desperate Elizabeth Holmes, how desperate Theranos was. These companies were at least as desperate. There are alot of pharmacies out there, a lot of major supermarket chains out there that would have turned their entire business model around if Theranos would have worked.”

    There were also more heated text messages between Holmes and fellow Theranos executive Sunny Balwani, seemingly mocking Walgreens stores and their customers. 

    Solomon added, “this is a jury that has regular people as jurors. Regular people can relate to text messages, maybe better than the super elite can relate to text messages.”

    Walgreens executives testified they invested, negotiated and tested, assuming Elizabeth Holmes was being honest with them.
