Andrew Cuomo’s mayoral campaign is gaining momentum, fueled by a high-profile breakfast fundraiser hosted by over 100 influential women.

Power Women Rally Behind Cuomo’s Mayoral Bid

A group of 110 prominent women is organizing an exclusive breakfast fundraiser on Friday to support Andrew Cuomo’s run for New York City mayor. The event, expected to draw a star-studded guest list, includes Tribeca Enterprises CEO Jane Rosenthal, philanthropist Renee Rockefeller, and former Nassau County executive Laura Curran.

Several members of the Cuomo family will also be in attendance, including his mother, Matilda Raffa Cuomo, sister Maria Cuomo Cole, and sister-in-law Cristina Greeven Cuomo. His three daughters, Cara, Mariah, and Michaela, are also expected to join the gathering.

Tickets for the highly anticipated event range from $250 for general admission to $10,000 for a chairperson seat, according to the invitation obtained by Page Six. Organizers say the response has been overwhelming, with interest exceeding capacity.

An insider revealed that the event initially started with a small group of supporters but quickly gained traction. With demand soaring, organizers are now turning people away due to limited space.

    Cuomo’s Comeback Strategy Gains Momentum

Cuomo, who launched his campaign over the weekend, is positioning himself as the strongest challenger to incumbent Mayor Eric Adams in the Democratic primary. During a campaign event on Sunday, he defended his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and outlined his vision for the city.

The former governor has been reassembling his political team, bringing back key strategists from his previous administrations. Sources indicate that he is focused on building a strong coalition to support his bid.

The fundraiser hosted by influential women isn’t the only major event on Cuomo’s schedule. Separate gatherings are being planned by Equinix executive chairman Charles Meyers and political strategist Ken Sunshine, adding to the growing wave of support.

Cuomo is entering a crowded Democratic primary field that includes state Sens. Jessica Ramos and Zellnor Myrie, city Comptroller Brad Lander, state Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani, former Assemblyman Michael Blake, ex-City Comptroller Scott Stringer, and financier Whitney Tilson.

With powerful backers lining up and key political figures rallying behind him, Cuomo’s comeback bid is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched races in New York City politics.
